CHRIS Rudd has only recently joined the ranks at Ryburn GC but he has certainly made a big impact and the five handicapper added to his growing reputation with victory in the Captain's Weekend competition.
Captain Stuart Hartley's competition had to be held over to a second weekend after rain washed out proceedings following the morning's play on the first weekend.
By the Sunday morning of that first weekend, the course had dried out remarkably and
was fit to play although conditions were very difficult with a strong wind and tricky pin positions, while the second round played last Saturday proved to be a little easier although there was still a stiff breeze.
And it was Rudd who mastered the conditions best, winning the Captain's Prize and the George Clayton Memorial Trophy with a net 69 then a net 67 for a 136 total.
The best gross prize went to another five handicapper, Danny Stock, with a 77 and a 71 for a total of 148.
