OLD Brods under 13s played good, open attacking rugby as they beat Ilkley 52-19.
Brods' pack sucked in the Ilkley defence. The ball went down the line to Tyler Nicholson who cruised past the opposition to score, Max Sheldrake converting, and from the re-start Oliver Firth drove over in the corner.
Ilkley scored against the run
of play but straight from the kick off Brods crossed again through Brodie Wilson, Sheldrake converting.
Brods' fourth try came from prop Harry Manock who forced his way over and Nicholson scored his second. Sheldrake converted both.
The second half started with centre Tom Cockroft putting Nicholson through a gap for his hat trick, Sheldrake goaled.
Ilkley hit back with their second try but Brods responded with prop Isaac Cracknell going over after which a chip over the top by Sheldrake was scooped up by Cockroft who ran in under the posts, Sheldrake securing the two points.
Ilkley had the final say with a try in the last minute.
BRODS under 10s had mixed fortunes on their travel to Skipton.
The Bears ran out 20-0 winners with tries from Josh Stringer (two), Tighe Maxwell-Whiteley and Jack Crowther.
The Broncos struggle to cope with the much bigger Skipton forwards as they lost by the same score.
Old Rishworthian Reds under 10s were 40-20 winners over Keighley with Jack Davis, Will McDonnell, Thomas Creasey, Thomas Sweeten, Jacob Bower, Jonathan Wheatcroft and Nathan Cooper all crossing.
OLD Rishworthians under 16s played their full part in a 17-17 draw with York.
Rishworthians took the lead midway through the first half, prop Oswin picking up from the ruck and being held just short. From the ruck, stand off Matthew Hunt-Brown received quick ball and darted in for a try.
Another good drive from the base of the scrum by Jackson took play into the York half and led to Rishworthians' next score.
Good handling down the three quarter line saw winger Ryan Percival use his pace to score a fine try in the corner.
Rishworthians extended their lead further just before the interval when, from a scrum, No 8 Jackson picked up from the base and powered over under the posts. Cook made no mistake with the conversion to send Rishworthians into the break 17 - 0 up.
York reduced the arrears with a well worked try then added a further score soon after.
York were in the driving seat and forced Rishworthians back into their own half as they came hunting for the winning score. The York pressure told as the Rishworthian defence cracked allowing York to drive over for a try wide out. The conversion sailed wide and Rishworthians breathed again and held out for a draw.
