OPPOSITION leader David Cameron was in Halifax today to meet HBOS chiefs and community leaders.
Mr Cameron visited the Halifax headquarters at Trinity Road, on the day that Gordon Brown announced an unprecedented £37billion bank bail out and it was revealed HBOS chief executive Andy Hornby would step down once the Lloyds TSB takeover was complete.

"It is extraordinary that taxpayers should be having to bail out the banks and I am sure it is very confusing and worrying for people in Halifax," Mr Cameron told the Courier after meeting staff, including the chief executive of Halifax operations, Dan Watkins.

He then went on to speak to Conservative politicians, council leaders and businessmen at Halifax Town Hall.

So no 'senior' managers made it down from Jockland then? What a surprise.

Dan Watkins reports to Andy Hornby. Given that he's going, is that senior enough?
