Hard work – but what a difference

THE entrance to Copley village was once strewn with rubble, litter and weeds.
But thanks to the hard work of the Copley Village Residents Action Group, the spot has been transformed.
Its latest work involved getting hands dirty to prepare for the Britain In Bloom Neighbourhood Awards.
They replaced spring bedding plants with summer varieties.
Katherine Shaw, chairman of the group, said: "We have had lots of positive comments about the planting.
"It has really improved the entrance to the village. Before it was full of builders' rubbish, litter, weeds and nettles.
"But Copley is a lovely village and the entrance is now more in keeping with the rest of it."
