A SPONSORED scoot and saunter around Ogden Water, Halifax, raised cash for stroke patients.
Dorothy Muir, 74, of Holmfield, had a stroke three years ago and wanted to repay the kindness of staff at Calderdale Royal Hospital Stroke Rehabilitation Ward and members of the Heath Stroke Club, Halifax.

She said: "I had a stroke three years ago and just recently I was back in hospital for an inner ear infection, which has affected my balance again.

"Every time I have been in hospital I've been so impressed with the staff and I thought this was the least I could do to raise some money to help them.

Mrs Muir and her husband John joined friends and family for the saunter and scoot. She said: "We have raised over £200, which will be a nice Christmas present for them."

The money will be divided equally between the two organisations.
