SOWERBY St Peters blitzed Triangle to lift themselves off the foot of the table and claim their second maximum points haul of the season.
Sowerby were given a massive start by opening pair Gareth Standeven (44) and Paul Gawthrope (36) who put on 84 for the first wicket.

Ryan Brook fell cheaply but Reece Richardson took on the Triangle attack and bludgeoned a healthy 69, which included six fours and five sixes before being bowled by Karl Whippey.

A late cameo from John Brown brought him 27 important runs as Sowerby finished on 246 for six.

Triangle's talented batting line up will always feel confident of chasing down any target and they were still relatively well-placed at 138 for five.

But they lost their last five wickets for just 37 runs as the left arm spin of Chris Greenwood got to work with medium pacer Gareth Grogan also having some joy.

Triangle did not help their cause with a couple of run outs but Sowerby ultimately deserved their win with Greenwood picking up four for 56 and Grogan two for 15 to ensure Triangle were unable to bat their way back into the contest.

Jason Cartlidge was the day's big-hitter as he plundered 18 fours and three sixes on the way to 128 in Booth's five wicket win over Bradshaw.

Cartlidge overcame the relatively early loss of fellow opener Jim Mosley as he shared in decent stands with Ian Sharkey and Richard Laycock before being fourth man out with the score on 265.

Booth eventually realised 282 for five, setting Bradshaw a daunting total.

And they were rarely in the running as Laycock (four for 40) and Oliver Collinge (two for 28) set about their work admirably to leave the visitors well short on 128.

Old Crossleyans were no match for champions Mytholmroyd, who are building up a full head of steam, in a game affected by rain.

They managed 184 for eight when play was held up. The enforced break saw that target reduced to 176 and Mytholmroyd knocked off the required runs for the loss of just three wickets.

Leaders Northowram were also hit by the weather as their match against Copley was abandoned with Copley on 30 for one chasing a target of 141.

Chris Metcalf had broken the shackles imposed by the Copley attack to make 44 of his side's runs, but everybody else struggled with spinner Chris Goulden claiming four wickets and Richard Thorpe and Mark Baldwin two apiece.

Warley and Sowerby Bridge were the third game hit by train. Their clash was also washed out.

Chris Atkinson continued his good form, crashing 13 fours on the way to 100 not out in a Warley total of 223 for four, Nolan Bottomley scoring 58 at the top of the order as the pair put on 126 for the first wicket.

Tim Helliwell also reached a half century at the head of the Bridge innings, but the support fell away until Lee Smith attempted to rescue things with a mid-order 64 but the weather eventually intervened.

Big hitting from Ian Gledhill (48) and new signing Rob Hill (87) were not enough to see Southowram get the better of Jekyll and Hyde team SBCI.

Alex Kaye and Jamie Summerscales provided SBCI with a fine opening stand of 150 and it was not wasted as the home side went on to set Southowram a testing target of 277 for five, Dan Keighley making 63.

Geoff Stilwell (38) and Zubair Raje (56) made a solid start but Southowram suffered a mid-order collapse before all-rounders Gledhill and Hill put on 128 in vain as the visitors fell short.
