FC Halifax Town v Oldham Athletic LIVE

So, in a nutshell, if Town win then they only need a draw at Eastleigh to finish in the top seven. If they draw, then they need a win at Eastliegh to guarantee top seven. Oldham just have to win, anything else and their hopes are over. Even with a win they’ll be relying on other results on Saturday and would need another win then. Technically Town can still finish 5th but they’d need two wins out of two and be hoping that Gateshead lost against Bromley and Solihull lost against York. Halifax can also finish sixth if they win both games and Gateshead lose. But realistically, it’s seventh that’s left to fight for. But that’s just in a nutshell.

Thursday night football

The last time Town played on a Thursday, from what I can tell, was the 5-1 defeat at Stockport on Boxing Day in 2019. If you don't class that as a regular Thursday, then you're talking the 2-2 home draw with Gateshead on April 12, 2018.

Welcome to our live coverage of what I’m sure you’ll agree is a massively huge game for both clubs - FC Halifax Town v Oldham Athletic.

Both clubs are still in with a chance of finishing in the play-offs and both are desperate for a win.
