Halifax's Shibden Hall to feature on episode of Channel 5's Our Great Yorkshire Life

The series follows the lives of Yorkshire people as different presenters visit the different corners of `God's Own Country'.
In the episode journalist Christa Ackroyd travels to Halifax on a quest to find out more about the life of the town’s most famous heroine Anne Lister, who was the inspiration behind Sally Wainwright’s TV series, Gentleman Jack.

Christa gets a special behind-the-scenes tour of Anne’s old home Shibden Hall which is not open to the public.
Then she meets up with the remarkable 90-year-old Helena Whitbread who became the first person to decode Anne Lister’s racy coded diaries in fine detail.
The episode will also pay a visit to Cannon Hall Farm, Ilkley and Newby Hall.
