Halifax born goalkeeper completes move to Premier League side

Halifax born goalkeeper Carl Rushworth has completed a permanent move to Premier League newcomers Coventry City.

Rushworth came through the youth system at FC Halifax Town before joining Brighton in 2019, but never played a senior game for them, instead going out on loan to several clubs, including at Coventry last season, helping them to promotion.

Rushworth played in all 46 of Coventry's league games last season, keeping 17 clean sheets. His move is reported to be for a fee of £22m, but the Courier understands there is no sell-on clause dating back to his time with Halifax.
